Cannabis financial technology firm Abaca announces that Joshua Shannon is joining the team as a senior developer. Shannon joins Abaca from Lindsey Software Systems where he was a senior software engineer.
“It’s our mission to deliver enterprise-class financial services to the entire cannabis industry,” said Abaca CEO Dan Roda. “Joshua’s deep experience in developing banking and payments solutions will be a tremendous asset to our team as we grow our platform and reach.”
Additionally, the company announces the promotion of Sean Russell to vice president of technology. “Sean has proven himself to be a phenomenal addition to our team,” said Abaca Chief Technology Officer Greg Ellis. “We’re excited to see him take on new challenges in contributing to the development and management of Abaca’s suite of financial products as we look to solve problems and add value for our clients.”
Abaca enables financial services such as banking, lending, and electronic payment processing for the U.S. cannabis industry. It was founded in 2017 by Roda, Ellis, John Foley and Brian Bauer.
